He has always been students-first. Mr. Markley makes strong connections with kids and challenges them academically and socially. He is easy-going, approachable, and has a way about him that can calm any situation.

Mrs. Wesley loves our students and wants to see them succeed in school and in life. Her classroom lessons help students see the good around them to ‘fill each other’s buckets’ and live our school mission and motto: Grit, growth, graduation! Get there the Griffith Way!

Ms. Previlon knows students and families from a feeder school. Her connection with students is out of this world. She has started making changes with PBIS incentives and 'Drip Passes.' Her work mentoring a student-counselor shows she believes in the process and shares expertise. We are blessed to have Ms. Previlon as part of the Colt family!

Mrs. Sappington goes above and beyond for the students and families at Sue Morrow ES. She has worked past contract hours to support our students who are in crisis and meet with their families. She offers valuable resources to our families to support all students and families.

Mr. Davis has made an indelible, dedicated, and innovative mark on our school. He's implemented a mental health awareness program, enhancing student wellbeing and reducing stigma; spearheaded peer counseling initiative, creating support network and empathy; and collaborated with teachers on effective strategies for unique student needs, improving academic performance. Overall, Mr. Davis stands out not only as a counselor but as a compassionate leader whose unwavering commitment has positively transformed our school community.

Ms. Moffett has shown outstanding leadership and transformative impact through innovative programs meeting diverse student needs. She has spearheaded a comprehensive mental health campaign - workshops, forums, resources - successfully creating a supportive environment, reducing stigma, increasing resilience and reducing incidents. She's played a pivotal role in personalized support for at-risk students through counseling and 504s, markedly improving academics and wellbeing. Her contributions have positively shaped the entire school community, making her well deserving of our appreciation!

Mrs. Castle is the heartbeat of our school. She works diligently and passionately every day to meet the social emotional needs of our students, our families, and our staff. She teaches character, runs support groups, and fills gaps. She's organized meals and gifts for families and helped introduce emotional regulation strategies. She approaches situations with empathy, brings community together, and helps manage emotions through conversations. Mrs. Castle is one-of-a-kind!

Betsy Rhodes Elementary School

Mr. Macias has been at Rhodes for 3 1/2 months and has already made a positive contribution to our school community. He holds attendance meetings with students and families that are chronically absent and may need support. He pushes into classrooms and does monthly lessons on our character strength of the month. He holds restorative circles for students and groups of students. He is a valuable member of Rhodes Elementary.

This year, Ms. Santizo has put all her heart and talent into building SEL into schoolwide tier-one instruction. She spends hours weekly collaborating with our behavior strategist to create easy to follow lessons for our classroom teachers at all grade levels. Because of these lessons, we hear more students articulate how they demonstrate a growth mindset, using vocabulary such as tenacity and grit around the school. She has been excellent at helping our families connect with much needed resources. She makes our school a great place to work and learn.

Ms. Walker's positive and energetic presence on campus is contagious!  She gets to know every student on our campus, taking time to learn about their families and their unique needs.  She has been relentless on combating chronic absenteeism leading to a 15% drop in the number of students who are identified as such.  Her committment to students and support of the school staff is recognized and appreciated by all of our Tate Tigers.

Sierra Vista High School

Ms. Segal is a great addition to the Sierra Vista team!  She has taken on the responsibility of developing mini SEL lessons to be deployed to all students once per week based on feedback we receive from teachers, students and the Panorama Survey.  These lessons have focused on building student strengths both academically and socially.  She has also taken the lead on starting our Hope Squad program to build student leadership and support for all students on campus. She always has a positive attitude and cares deeply, not only about her own caseload of students, but all students on campus!

Mrs. Lynch goes above and beyond to advocate for the well-being of our students. She prioritizes identifying and addressing students' needs and making sure that they feel supported and understood. She has been a leader in implementing our PBIS system to create a positive climate at our school. Mrs. Lynch consistently demonstrates remarkable dedication, skill, and compassion in supporting our students' academic and social-emotional growth. We are lucky to have her at our school!

Mr. Tyler comes to us from the high school world and is already making an impact with our students. His love of super heroes, games, and comics resonates with our students. He has already provided resources to feed some of our families for the holidays and has taken it upon himself to start designing our new game room and the logistics for the PBIS incentive. Mr. Tyler jumps feet first into every idea that the school has and is solution oriented in his conversations. He has made it his mission to provide resources for students and families and connect them with what it takes to be successful.

Red Rock Elementary School

Ms. Busby has done a remarkable job serving as the facilitator of our Student Support Team. Facilitates meetings of individuals supporting students outside classroom to evenly distribute caseloads, ensuring no student falls through cracks and equitable services. Delivers monthly SEL lessons. Coordinates Peace and Career week activities. Works with middle school counselors for smooth 5th grade transitions. She is always there for any of our students on campus and has really been a leader on our campus for all of our wraparound services.

Helen Herr Elementary School

Mr. Jones is making great strides in enhancing the student experience at Herr ES by initiating intramural sports programs. By establishing basketball, football, and soccer teams, he's providing students with opportunities for physical activity, teamwork, and social interaction. These sports can contribute significantly to students' overall well-being and sense of belonging within the school community. Mr. Jones's efforts are likely to have a positive impact on the students' physical health, social skills, and overall academic performance. It's wonderful to see such proactive efforts to enrich the school environment!
