Dr. Dean brings deep expertise in instructional design, teacher preparation, and leveraging data to support school and district improvement.

Dr. Shelia Thomas, Chief Strategy and Support Services Officer for Newton County Schools, is an advocate in student, staff, and family wellness. She is a pioneering leader in promoting the whole-child approach to education, focusing on student and staff mental wellbeing to foster positive school climate. Dr. Thomas has spearheaded initiatives that prioritize the holistic development of students and staff. Her belief in PBIS has strengthened student engagement, wellbeing, and success.

Dr. Keith M. Benton, a lifelong Georgia native from Decatur, is a dedicated educator, community leader, and advocate for at-risk youth. After excelling in athletics from an early age, he received a full athletic scholarship in football to Tuskegee University, where he earned a Bachelor of Social Work along with academic and athletic honors. He later obtained his Master’s in Social Work from the University of Georgia and earned both his Specialist and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University in Sarasota.

Dr. Tammie Carter is a native Las Vegan where she resides with her husband. As a blended family she is the mother of four beautiful daughters. Dr. Carter is an accomplished educator and consultant with an extensive background in social work and education. She holds multiple degrees, including a BA in Social Work Psychology, a BA in Education, and three master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and Rehabilitation Counseling. Additionally, she earned a PhD in Educational Psychology.

Amanda Hearon is an experienced educational leader with over 20 years in PreK–12 education, specializing in special education, early childhood, and inclusive practices. Currently serving as Student Services Region Director II, Amanda Hearon oversees cross-functional teams, leads district-wide initiatives, and facilitates professional development in areas such as behavior intervention and IEP best practices. She holds an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership and a Master’s in Urban Elementary Education.
